About SwedTech Diving
SwedTech Diving is a technical diving education company founded in 2003 by Michael Bergström. We specialize in scenario-based dive training designed to provide relevant, practical skill development.
Our Philosophy
Our founding principle was to create a more well thought through diving education for the diver that wanted the most of his diving. We believe that making complex technical training accessible while maintaining safety and enjoyment as core values is essential.
We emphasize that "the hard is not necessarily difficult," reflecting our commitment to making technical diving education more accessible and comprehensible for students through accumulated expertise developed over years of instruction.
Our History
2003
Company launch with initial courses in Intro to Tech, Technical Diver, and Wreck Diver certifications
2005
Developed proprietary course materials titled "Technical diving in plain Swedish" (later translated to English as "The Basic Skills of Technical Diving")
2008
Introduced our own certification program
2010
Expanded instructor team from 1 to 10 certified professionals
2013
Expanded course offerings to include recreational through advanced diving (wrecks, caves, mines, rebreather training)
2014
International expansion with instructors stationed in Malta
2019
Strategic transition to independent operations emphasizing "relevance, safety and joy" in dive training delivery
Today
Today, SwedTech Diving has over 15 certified instructors based primarily in Sweden and Malta, offering courses ranging from recreational scuba diving to advanced cave, mine, and rebreather diving. Our commitment to quality education and safety remains at the core of everything we do.
